I have about 23,000 digital images stored in a couple of Lightroom catalogues. Selecting 18-20 special images from this library is a challenge. I made a couple of initial criteria to cut down the scope: no photos of family or friends, and since the aspect ratio of most current displays is 16:9, only images that can fit that format are included.
These 18 images made my first selection. I'm sure that if I repeated the process a different set of 18 photos would appear. That suggests that these might not be the absolute "best"(whatever "best" means.) Instead, these images triggered an emotional response as I paged through the library of thumbnails. I've added some notes to each photo explaining its background. Those notes might give a clue why I selected the image. Either way, I hope you enjoy them!
