It is said that the best camera is the one you have with you. That makes smart phones the "best" camera for many, many people. Not only can they "seize the day", they can also seize the image when it catches their eye.
These sea oats grew in the dunes on Galveston's West Island in 2012. It is close to the spot where my granddaughter likes to build sand-castles and so I usually had my camera. I did on this day when they ripened. Since then, they have not grown again in this profusion. They remind be that images are fleeting: even the cycles of nature cannot be relied upon to repeat a show.
