A lot of flights from US to Japan arrive at Narita in early afternoon. Depending on traffic from the airport the traveller gets to a hotel in late afternoon or early evening. Either time is too early to think about bed so I usually take a walk in the sunshine to try to minimize the effects of jet-lag. This photo was taken one such early evening.
Tokyo Bay at Chiba does not have the sandy shoreline normally associated with a beach. Instead, it reflects its industrial surroundings. The muddy gravel beach is littered with plastic and glass, strewn with concrete and the occasional bit of wood. But, even here, among the debris there was a touch of beauty.
